Clubs and Bars in Cartagena

El Coro Lounge & Bar at Hotel Santa Clara Sofite

This French owned lounge-bar prides itself in its extensive range of international liquors and is always keen to know of any that are absent from their stock. During the day this is a tranquil place to sit and read a newspaper or book, but the evenings present a different scene. Lights, music and Latin dance take over, giving this the ‘exotic club’ feel.

Café del Mar

Another great place to enjoy out-door entertainment is the Café del Mar. Situated on the top of the city wall, this is the perfect location to relax with a cocktail whilst watching the magnificent sunset over the Caribbean. Whether it‘s pre-dinner drinks you fancy, or relaxing on the couches listening to the traditional live music, this is the ideal place from which to admire the city on one side and the beautiful ocean on the other. The terrace is adorned with original cannons, areas of which can be reserved for private parties thus creating that unique ambiance for your special occasion.

Mister Babilla

Situated within the walled city, in the area of Getsemaní, this is a very popular spot to practice your salsa and Latin pop skills. The interior is more like a restaurant than a trendy club, but the brightly painted walls and typically Caribbean decoration goes to make this a fun and lively place. As there is only a small dance floor so dancing on the outside terrace is a nightly occurrence.

Café Havana

If you‘ve never visited Cuba‘s capital city then don‘t worry, just step into Café Havana and you‘ll be instantly transported there. Located on a street corner, as many of Havana‘s bars are, this rustic building has high ceilings and a fascinating array of 50‘s Cuban artifacts. Black and white photos of classic cars, typical Cubans sat outside bars smoking fat cigars, and famous musicians playing to enthusiastic listeners, adorn the walls. Numerous large pots containing palms are dotted around making the entire decor typically Cuban. This is undoubtedly one of the best places in the city to sample a mojito, smoke a cigar and dance the night away in a typical Cuban atmosphere.

Chiva Party Bus

Painted in crazy colours with large open windows, these ex-school buses provide a fun and memorable night-on-the-town with a difference. The bus begins by touring the city to see the bright lights and Afro-Caribbean dancing in the Plazas. An on-board bar, snacks and music provide some fun entertainment for around three and a half hours. The tour ends at a night club where you can continue the fun whilst dancing the night away.
